Success at the Animals Asia Roadshow
Friday July 7, 2006 by Paul Martin
The Animals Asia Roadshow ended with great success at China Red in London raised around £22,000 in total. This is fantastic news and I feel very humble to have been a part of it. I was also joined by June Brown, Rula Lenska and the fantastic Virginia McKenna.
After a very moving presentation from Jill Robinson, the founder of Animals Asia, we auctioned some brilliant lots. My favourite being the sculpture “Bear” by Philip Blacker, one of my favourite contemporary sculptors.
The auction has helped raised vital funds forwards the rescuing and up keep of the Moon Bears, and the rest of the work the charity do. I urge you to look at their website to see the great and worth while work the charity does.
Jill really has dedicated her life to this cause and really should inspire us to help in any small way we can.
I will be trying to do my bit once more on the 2nd September for the Wimbledon Dog walk at Wimbledon Common. This time Bluebelle will be helping me out as well.
