Redwings Adoption Club

Some of you may remember that last year I filming at The Redwings Horse Sanctuary near Norwich for Flog It. I was so moved by the work that they do rescuing and rehabilitating many horses, that I went back to visit again earlier this year to spend more time with them and learn further about the brilliant work that they do. All the horses, donkeys and mules have their very own unique and sometimes heart wrenching stories and without charities such as Redwings they would have no one. I now often tell our little lot just how lucky they are as they look at me demanding to know why their dinner is late! It’s so sad to think that there are too many horses than their are loving homes for them in this country.

I am really pleased to have just been asked to become an “Honorary Adopter” of one of their horses. I have chosen “Will Scarlett”, who is 16.1hh and a Shire Cross. He’s an ex-police horse who ended up at Redwings due to lameness problems. I love big horses, so he’s the obvious choice! We now have his picture pinned in the kitchen and receive regular updates on what he’s been up to.

Introducing Will

There are so many ponies, horses and donkeys you can choose to adopt – and what a great present for the person who has everything or for someone who really wants a horse, as you really feel like you get to know them, and can always go and visit. It’s a fun way to support such a worthwhile charity.

Please visit the Redwings website for more information.
